The European Heritage Network (HEREIN) is a permanent information system gathering European governmental services in charge of heritage protection within The Council of Europe.
Accessible via the Internet (www.european-heritage.net), the Network is the only heritage information system of its kind. It offers:
- A databank covering heritage policies in Europe and multilingual Thesaurus in 10 European languages.
- The development of services for authorities, professionals, research workers and the public, with a European portal providing access to Internet resources in the cultural heritage field; professional forum and a "Heritage Discovery" section enabling visitors to explore various aspects of the heritage.
